This past week, Painted Dog Press celebrated the publication of Conrad Botes and Anton Kannemeyerโs latest book, Bitterkomix Sketchbooks & Journals, a full-colour art book of decadesโ worth of illustrations from their sketchbooks and journals.
A packed CIRCA Gallery cocooned guests on a chilly winterโs night and provided the perfect Johannesburg space not only for the launch of a fascinating book, but also for a one-night-only exhibition of original art, including some sketchbooks and journals.
On screen during the artistsโ presentation were examples of their work, photographs from their archives and material that served as inspiration over the years.
Guests queued patiently while Anton and Conrad illustrated and signed copies of their book, before the revelry moved upstairs for more wine and a showstopper rooftop fire.
